"So we beat on boats against the current,borne ceaselessly into the past" was the last sentence of "The Great Gatsby" by F.Scott Fitzgerald , That being the last line of the book was very important because it define the Great Gatsby because if you keep talking/thinking about the past then you will never move forward and for me this book seems to relate to it since Jay Gatsby felt like he was living the past while others were moving forward. He also threw a lot of parties at this house just so people can think good about him. Throughout the book Gatsby did loved daisy a lot and he tried to get Daisy to tell her husband Tom to say she loves Gatsby and never loved him and to leave him as well. I still believe that J. Gatsby is still living the past because he tried getting daisy to love him back since Gatsby really loved her a lot. Gatsby would be better if he stops trying to change the past and forgets about the past because then he wouldnt be feeling
